That's right! Canada turns 142 years old today!! And we get a day off in the middle of the week! Yay!
Stayed in bed till 9:00 this morning and then biked my 21 km in the basement and later went for a 45-minute walk with a friend, so I've gotten my exercise in for the day. Still another crappy, muggy, overcast day here. This weather is really unbelievable. I honestly cannot remember the last sunny day we had! My raspberries need some sun! And so do I!!
Brad's out trying to find the first season of True Blood. We downloaded the first show of season I and watched it last night. We both liked it a lot. Brad is not so sure that he wants to watch it while we're on vacation though - out in the wilds of rural New Brunswick! ;)
Gotta run and rustle up some supper... Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks!

Others taunt me with having knelt at well-curbs

My myself in the summer heaven, godlike
Looking out of a wreath of fern and cloud puffs.
Once, when trying with chin against a well-curb,
I discerned, as I thought, beyond the picture,
Through the picture, a something white, uncertain,
Something more of the depths—and then I lost it.
Water came to rebuke the too clear water.
One drop fell from a fern, and lo, a ripple
Shook whatever it was lay there at bottom,
Blurred it, blotted it out. What was that whiteness?
Truth? A pebble of quartz? For once, then, something.
