Spartacus

Ho-hum... Not a whole lot going on this week. Though sun was promised yesterday and today, it continues to be overcast and cool with more showers in the offing. This is really turning into the summer that wasn't. I'd be very POed if, like a friend of mine, I were staying at a cottage by the ocean last week and this.

Brad's family continues to do "shifts" at the hospital. His mother is stable and improving a little, but she remains very weak and will likely be in hospital for another couple of weeks at least. The family is trying to get care services/equipment in place for when she does go home.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Bolshoi Ballet's version of Spartacus this Saturday in a broadcast at the local theatre. It's an HD broadcast from the Palais Garnier in Paris. It isn't live, as it starts at 1:00 p.m. local time across the country. It should be good. The last ballet I saw was Giselle, and we saw it at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow when we were there in 2006.

We're also looking forward to going to a potluck at Don and Mar's place this weekend. Shaun and Mary will be there, too. Would be nice if it were sunny, but I won't hold my breath!

Sorry your weather is not very pleasant. Here on the east coast we are having a spectacular summer with warms temps and lower-than-average humdity. Come East, young man!

LOL, Mark! It isn't east I should go, it's SOUTH! I'm actually farther east than you are! :-)
