Weighing In...

Hey all, just checking in to give a quick update. Wednesday is my weigh-in day at WW, and today - almost unbelievably, because I had some major off-plan days this past week - I was down another 1.2 lb.! That makes a total of 25.1 lb. that I have lost now since starting the Weight Watchers program. I think that's what I like so much about WW - it's flexible and it works. There were a couple of days last week when I scarfed down food like there was no tomorrow, but I got back on plan and kept up the exercise, and today was down just over a pound from last week. It definitely give me more incentive to stay on plan, however. So it's like 6.2 lb. that I've lost since Brad has been away (and I was worried about him being away and what impact that would have on my weight loss!) and now I've just 5.5 lb. more to go to reach my goal of 157 lb. Then it will be a matter of keeping the weight off, which won't be easy either. But I'd definitely recommend Weight Watchers to anone wanting to drop a few pounds. In fact, My sister in Saudi Arabia recently joined online and she lost over 4 lb. in the first week. (Probably easier to lose weight in KSA, since there is no alcohol allowed - sorry sis! Great job - Keep it up!)

Other than that, Brad continues his hike and is now in Vermont. His feet have been giving him problems with blisters and whatnot, but he keeps on walking! Hard to believe that he'll be back very soon, probably by June 24. I'm missing him a lot and will be glad when he's back home.

Now I've got to go eat supper - french fries and a soy burger with all the fixings! I'm allowed - I don't have to get weighed again for a whole week - with lots of biking and lawn mowing in between!

Not to take away from your accomplishment, because it takes work and dedication to achieve it, but I'm terribly envious. I'll have to look into the WW approach, as the approach that worked for me 8 years ago had failed this time. But you're a better man than I am in that you actually exercise, where I'm a hopeless lump of inactivity. ;-p

Thanks Ice John!

And Maurice, I HIGHLY recommend the WW program. You can even join just online and have access to their e-tools (weightwatchers.ca). It's also been great having Shaun in the program as well. A kind of friendly competition and encouragement system. But I have certainly been active, esp. since Brad has been back on the Trail. Mowing lawns and walking dogs + I biked 94.1 km on the stationary this week!
